On October 9, 2025 the Mad Hatchers, a tapestry study group, welcomed students from Duke University who are taking a class to co-curate an exhibit featuring Sylvia Heyden’s work.
The afternoon started with receiving a tour and history of the Triangle Weavers Guild. The students then got a quick lesson in tapestry techniques and even got to try their hand a tapestry weaving. Many thanks to Noel Lerner for constructing the frame looms.
The students will be giving a gallery talk at the Nasher Museum on March 5, 2026 at 6 pm. Mark your calendars now!
