Community Outreach is part of the Triangle Weavers Guild’s mission. Each year the Guild participates in events with the goal of educating the community about fiber arts. Guild members conduct demonstrations and give non-weavers the opportunity to try their hand at weaving and view spinning demonstrations. Our continuing goal is to promote a greater interest in the fiber arts and weaving by inspiring new weavers to come join the fun!
Exhibits and demonstrations are held annually at Carolina Fiberfest, the Carrboro Arts Center Elf Fair and festivals, fairs, events, summer weaving camps and schools throughout the Triangle region.

Charitable Donations
The Triangle Weavers Guild also proudly makes donations to several organizations in the area.
Preemie hats, Linus blankets, Mittens and Scarves
- Members weave, knit, or crochet bassinet blankets and preemie hats for the Neonatal Ward at UNC Hospitals. Bassinet blankets should measure 18” x 22”. Find Preemie hat patterns.
- We make Linus Blankets for children who are cancer patients in local hospitals. Linus blankets, for children of all ages, should be 30” square or larger.
- We provide hats, scarves, and mittens for families at Project Homestart in Chapel Hill.
Knitted Knockers
Members knit soft, comfortable prosthetics for breast cancer survivors. Visit the Knitted Knockers website for patterns and approved yarns.
