Weave Got Joy! is one of the spring projects leading into Mother’s Day. The girls (ages 5 – 12) wove these lovely pillow covers in late March 2022 on Cricket looms donated by TWG. They chose the yarn donated by members of the TWG and others. Then they made a color map planning their warp and weft and wove the fabric themselves.
When they finished the fabric, Mary Roper (TWG member) had them choose the fabric for the back, and sewed the covers for them. The ladies are thrilled with the result and want to weave more pillow covers soon! The tags on the pillows say “Weave Got Joy” on the front, and on the back, “100% Handwoven with Joy! By: ____________________” with the email address of the girls’ cottage on campus.
