Study Groups (re)Unite!

Handwoven Study South

It’s beautiful outside and opportunities for safely getting back together are increasing. The Handwoven Study South group took advantage this month to host a pot luck picnic at Phyllis Demko’s home. Phyllis’s husband Marty grilled some burgers, while members brought contributions for the meal….and….there were brownies(!)

Twelve members shared their pandemic weaving works and enjoyed reuniting to chat about all things weaving and more.

Sue Jaken wove this beautiful scarf from 18/2 Merino and Zephyr wools at 18 epi in a 3-1 twill.

Also presented at the meeting were these bright towels of mostly 8/2 cotton, woven in 3-1 twill, at 18 epi, by Sue Jaken.

This group will be gathering again on a regular basis beginning in September on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Marion Flint’s home from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

This should whet our appetites for jumping into a study group of our choice next September.  The opportunities are myriad!
